How To Relax

It's very hard to relax, especially during this difficult time. However mental health is so important and it's worth spending the same time and energy in your exterior wellbeing as your interior. So here's how to spend your down time well and relax thoroughly for free and at home.

Remove yourself from the stressful situation then get changed into cosy clothes and sit or lay down. Breathe slowly in and out , you can play yoga or watch a breathing video from youtube out loud. Allowing yourself to relax through movement releases a lot of physical tension. I recommend doing this for around 10 minutes. Try and get everything out of your head.

Once rested, if you have one available, grab a face mask (the face mask from Superdrug I have explained in https://selfcarereviewsforyou.blogspot.com/2020/05/cheap-pamper-night-essentials.html is amazing and for only 99p! Even place 2 cucumber slices onto your eyes if you are feeling extra, this instantly cools down your skin.

Close your eyes and put on your favourite tunes, a relaxing playlist would specifically be great for this (i'll be posting a blog about this soon!) Sit and chill for as long as you need but around 30 minutes is perfect for me. If you don't enjoy listening to music or just prefer TV, you can play your favourite show - try and make sure it's not action based so its more relaxing.

After your period of relaxation, don't instantly burst back to full speed, instead: calmly and slowly return to your work. Repeat this as many times as you want, due to them being quite short I recommend at least 4 times a week. Make sure to comment and share to my blog, and most importantly subscribe!

  1. I love this. It is so important to practice self care. It doesn’t even need to be some huge gesture to yourself, small things make all the difference x x
