Cruelty Free Makeup Products

Makeup is something we can all wear, however finding products which are cruelty free is very hard. Cruelty free is a category that means the cosmetics have not been tested on animals. Whether you ONLY use cruelty free makeup full time or just want a to support cruelty free products, I have 3 amazing makeup items that are, listed below!

Foundation

Fenty Pro-filter Foundation £27
This Fenty foundation (from Rihanna's brand) is thick and full coverage specialising in being amazing at hiding pores and imperfections - whilst only using 2-3 pumps. The product is brilliant at building so you can add more layers on top to add extra coverage without it cracking or looking cakey. There is a huge shade range consisting of 40 shades, so you are sure to find your perfect match! However these qualities are expected due to the relatively high price point. One issue I would point out is that it oxidises a lot which means although the shade you have picked out is right for you in the store initially, over time is slowly turns darker and a more orangey tone. To make sure I picked the perfect shade, I picked out a colour and let it sit on my hand for a couple of minutes, here you should be able to see the shade it will turn when oxidising.

Loose Setting Powder

RCMA No-Color Powder £11.75

This setting powder is finely milled, light and translucent when applied (although looking thick white in the container). As it is finely milled, each and every ounce of makeup you have applied underneath will be set perfectly and evenly. This product sets my makeup perfectly and makes it last for hours, especially when used as a bake instead of light quick dusting. (A bake is when you press in the powder on top of the makeup and let it sit for a couple minutes). As it is "no colour" the issue of flashback is not at all prominent, this means it will look good in pictures and also in real life. For the price, the value is amazing - there is a huge quantity of product for a very affordable amount. For example in comparison to the very popular Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder which is £32 for 29g (£1.10/g) this is only £11.75 for 85g (£0.14/g). A bargain! For me, I have still not even reached halfway and I have been using it everyday for the last year!

Concealer

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19
This concealer is full coverage, working especially well under the eyes to hide dark circles. It blends perfectly due to its creamy consistency, melting into the skin and leaving no backlash. Similar to the foundation, it layers perfectly to gain extra coverage if wanted as preference, yet it is full anyway. The only downfall for this is that there are only 10 different shades which isn't an outstanding range however if you find your perfect match it's definitely a product to keep repurchasing. As a drug store product, the price is amazing especially for the quality!

  2. This is such a helpful post! I love talking about cruelty free on my blog - but haven't tried out make up before! I don't wear any make up on a typical day, but I like to keep some on hand for date nights etc. I haven't yet tried any of these products, but I will be adding them to my basket soon!
