Drugstore Dupes for High-end Makeup

We all know makeup is something we love to wear, but sometimes its just not a priority. With the stereotype that cheaper branded makeup is worse, we often find ourselves saving up for the more expensive options. But here, I've found 3 dupes which can save you some cash!

Primer

Pictured right - Smash box Photo Finish Primer Water £22

The first step of your makeup routine is always the most important, it holds the base steady for the upcoming layers of makeup. A primer water is a great light way to quickly spritz your face prior to any makeup, which allows a tacky base for it to stick to. Both these primer waters perform the exact same, yet one just has a higher price tag! Both come in sturdy, leak free packaging which can't smash - this therefore makes them safe to travel with. The only downfall of the Nip + Fab primer is that it has a more direct pump which squirts the product mainly in one line whereas the Smashbox bottle allows more of a mist to spray. This makes applying it so much easier as if covers the face quickly and lightly in comparison to a more heavy targeted line. To help stop this, I use a flat foundation brush to spray the primer directly on which then can be used to spread it more evenly. The Smashbox primer also comes as a travel size (pictured) thats cheaper and amazing to use when not at home.
Nip + Fab: £1/10ml  Smashbox: £1.90/10ml

Concealer

Pictured right - Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19
Both of these concealers work the exact same yet have definitely a massive price difference. They are each high coverage, both don't oxidise nor leave flashback on the skin which allows a perfect flawless finish when seen in real life and on pictures. Although the Collection concealer is only available in 10 colours whereas the Urban Decay brand allows 14, if you can find your perfect shade in from Collection you will not only be getting a great concealer with the same quality as a high-end match but also a much cheaper alternative! Both come with quite a thin plastic applicator connected to the lid which performs perfects when wiped across the skin. Although the more expensive version does look and feel a lot heavier and nicer, the product inside is the same and for that reason, I'd opt for the cheaper concealer!
Urban Decay: £4.60/1ml Collection: 65p/1ml

Brows

Pictured right - Freedom Duo Brow Powder £4

Apart from looking almost identical, these two brow powders perform the same when applied. Both come with two different shades, one being almost an ashy tone of brown and the other a much deeper colour. The quality of both is exceptional, however one negative I would like to point out is that for the Freedom powder, it does leave fall out when swiped with a brush. However when applying, to combat this all that is needed to be done is a tap of the brush before using on your face and the excess will drop onto the floor and not your just done up face! Both come with a small compact mirror which is perfect for on-the-go travelling. The Freedom powder also comes with much much sturdier packaging (such as a much stronger lid) which is not necessarily always a good think as it's bulkier and takes up more room in your makeup bag.
Anastasia Beverly Hills: £15/g Freedom: £2/g
